Who is True North? The name True North comes from our belief that the absolute truth comes from the word of God. The Bible is the compass that we use for direction.
What is True North? True North is a Christian Education taught in two days a week. True North offers a full academic curriculum including Bible, Language Arts, Grammar, Math, Science and History, as well as something Texas A&M refers to as "The Other Education." One day consists of academic classes. The second day consists of enrichment classes such as Spanish, Sign language, ACT/SAT prep, Dual Credit electives, karate, sports, guitar, keyboarding, choir, art, computer programming, cheer, baseball, soccer, as well as a second day of Math and also homework help for those that need a little more instruction time.
Why create the True North? We are passionate about giving our children a quality education that includes Christ and points our children in His direction. It is our desire to see all Christian families have the opportunity to choose a Christ-centered education for their children regardless of finances. We understand that many families are unable to meet the hefty financial obligations associated with private schools. We also realize that many of these same families are desperate for an alternative to the government-run public school system. These truths brought us to our founding concept of partnering with Christian parents to provide a school where students can enjoy a quality curriculum instruction in a classroom setting, while also working on instructor-designated assignments and activities at home under their parents instruction. True North is a genuine partnership between teachers and parents, teaming up to work through curriculum and ensure that the student is gaining in wisdom and intellect. Our hope is to help bridge the gap for families who are looking for an alternative to public school but do not have the financial means to attend a full-time private school. .
When did True North open? True North launched its first year in the fall of 2017 with a team of 14 teachers/admins and 62 students. We currently house over 150 students! Our school days are Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00-2:50.
How is True North going to accomplish this? True North has obtained its 501(c)3 not for profit. True North has accepted a designated number of students. We have partnered with Lone Star College for dual credit classes to ensure our future students graduate with college credit.
We are concerned with growing the next generation with core Christian values, back to basics manners. and a love for life.
