Lisa Palmer- Founder and Executive Director
My degree is in Criminal Justice however my heart is in impacting the next generation for Christ. I accepted Jesus at the young age of seven. My heart has been for the Lord since that time.
I have been called to be involved in ministry of some sort for the past three decades.
I have been married to my amazing husband Rich for over 30 years. We have five incredible children Jayme, Alex, Samantha, David, and Emma. I have 5 grandchildren that I am so very proud of. I LOVE our large family. On any given Sunday we will have 15 at the table! I feel very blessed to be given the opportunity to raise up and educate our children and grandchildren within True North Academy. God is doing amazing things and we are so thankful to be part of bringing back the next generation for Christ.
Jayme Dicker- Co-Founder, Director of Education
God has blessed me with the opportunity to be married to a wonderful man, who gives his all back to serving the community. We have been married sixteen years and what a journey it has been. We have four beautiful daughters: Mikayla, Peyton, Bella, and Kimber. One of my favorite things is really watching how God has crafted each of them completely unique. We love spending time together, especially time out at the ranch with our equine babies. I have a passion to help people realize their greatest potential and I can not stand the words "I can't." You can! With Christ, you can. With the right mindset, you can! Words are powerful. My passion is helping the adolescents realize and accept God's role for their life in the Kingdom, while advancing each individual child's confidence and knowledge. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, as well as a minor in English, and then went on to attain my teacher's certificate. This will be my fourth year teaching in a hybrid model environment. God has weaved my love for encouraging and leading others into where he has placed me. I enjoy making learning fun. If I can find the right avenue for motivating a student to want to engage in learning, then it was a success.
Will and I always wanted a solid Christian foundation for our kids. Paying for that education for multiples was not easy though, and the girls went to public school. In June of 2016, I read the Circle Maker. I began praying my circles around bringing my girls out of public school, and providing a Christian education for all four of them. Funnily enough seven months later, I did not have peace about returning to the school I had been at. God had been preparing my heart for something bigger for three years and was bringing it to fruition. I had a passion for my kids' education. God had a passion for the community. It was out of this desire to 'Take Back the Next Generation' that True North was born.

Ms. Karen Cadenhead -
1st/2nd Grade Self Contained Classroom
Karen has a passion for teaching that began not long after she started school as a child. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Stephen F. Austin State University in 1991, and after teaching kindergarten and 1st grade for 4 years, went back to school at Lamar University to get her master’s degree in Deaf Education. She has a total of 17 years teaching experience, having taught deaf children for 10 years and hearing children for 7. The most rewarding part of teaching for Karen has been seeing the light come on in a student’s eyes when they begin to grasp a new concept. For the past 2 years, Karen has been working as a private tutor in academics for elementary aged students and American Sign Language for students up to college age. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys spending time training and playing with her shelter puppy-turned therapy dog, Omri. They make 9 regular visits each month (plus periodic special visits) to nursing homes, adult care facilities and schools, bringing furry joy to anyone who needs it! On Sundays, Karen teaches kindergarten through 2nd graders in kids’ church. Karen is enthusiastically looking forward to partnering with parents and other teachers who are committed to giving their children the best education possible.

- My husband and I created a personal Christmas ministry way back in the day- the poor college days. That first year with no money we solicited restaurant gift cards (back then it was paper coupons for free food)-to give to a homeless veteran in Ann Arbor, MI. We have continued the tradition to meet needs for someone every Christmas. God has divinely orchestrated each year. Annually everyone in our family takes part. The oldest was my mom at 72; the youngest is 1. Every year all of us look forward to this day almost as much as Christmas. -and boy have we accumulated some funny stories.
- I have been blessed to be able to go on mission trips to San Fillipe Mexico, Costa Rica, and Haiti.
- I was honored to team with another amazing lady to carry out the angel tree ministry at Fellowship of the Woodlands, now Woodlands Church. I led an angel tree ministry for three of the Magnolia Elementary Schools-.
- My husband and I lead youth group in Massachusetts. I ran a Mom’s Day Out in Florida.
- I have also been fortunate to have owned and operated several small businesses throughout the years.
- I served on the school board for Buckalew Elementary here in the Woodland’s during it’s founding year.
